Assignment Overview

We are looking for a Senior High-Voltage Pulsed Power Engineer

What you will work on

  • Designing and optimizing nanosecond pulsed high-voltage systems operating above 100 kV
  • Working with high-speed pulse systems including pulse-forming networks, fast switches, surge arresters, and specialized high-voltage components
  • Performing simulations using electromagnetic modeling tools such as Ansys Maxwell
  • Combining theoretical analysis with hands-on laboratory testing and prototyping
  • Designing solutions for energy transfer, impedance matching, insulation performance, and noise reduction
  • Conducting laboratory experiments and analyzing test results for system validation
  • Working with fast electromagnetic fields and addressing challenges related to grounding, shielding, and signal integrity
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop advanced high-energy electrical systems
  • Supporting research and development initiatives and improving experimental setups and methodologies

What you bring

  • Extensive experience in pulsed-power engineering with systems operating above 100 kV
  • Hands-on experience performing high-voltage measurements in fast, high-noise environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage components such as switches, spark gaps, surge arresters, insulators, and pulse-forming networks
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys Maxwell or similar EM simulation software
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic fields, grounding techniques, shielding, and signal integrity
  • Experience working with high-energy systems in domains such as pulsed laser systems, particle accelerators, X-ray systems, or high-energy physics applications
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative multidisciplinary team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical hands-on engineering mindset
  • Experience with prototyping, signal processing, and experimental development is beneficial
  • Knowledge of EMC, EMP, pulsed electric field technologies, or power electronics is considered an advantage
