Connected, electric, highly automated and autonomous machines are making their way into our lives, and it’s happening fast!

We are now looking for a passionate Android developer for the Software Systems AAH team at Volvo Construction Equipment in Braås.

What you will do

With an increased focus on services, connectivity and driver support, our new HMI platform will be an increasingly important component of our machines. We see a need to strengthen the team with an android developer with experience in Android and/or HMI development.

You will be part of a diverse agile team responsible for everything from requirements to tested functionality for our digital HMI system consisting of a digital instrument cluster and a large touch screen, controlling machine functionality (like infotainment, cab climate, lightning etc).

We work in a modern development environment where architecture and design are documented in UML, programming in Kotlin/Java and we use a CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins, Unit testing and integration testing.

GIT, Jira, and Confluence are other tools in our toolchain.

This is us

Software systems AAH department consists of 60 developers divided into eight agile teams that are mainly based in Braås, 25 minutes from Växjö. We are a global team and in addition to Braås we have teams in Bangalore India and Wroclaw Poland. The department are responsible for all machine software for our market-leading Haulers.

This position is onsite in Braås.

We think that you are an experienced Android developer who is passionate about coding and architecture, but at the same time we are open to more junior applicants, as long as you have the right mindset and are willing to grow together with us.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc/B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Good programming skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • You take responsibility and ownership of your and your team's deliveries
  • You are a positive and flexible team player

It is meritorious to have one or more of the following:

  • Experience of HMI development, preferably for vehicles
  • Kotlin and/or C++
  • Android Automotive
  • UML
  • Good communication skills in Swedish
  • Experience of connectivity and Cyber Security
  • Experience/interest from CI/CD pipelines
