Quality & Environmental Manager to JOST Umeå

About the Role

As Quality Manager, you will be a central part of our operations. You will lead and develop the global quality department in close collaboration with R&D, Purchasing, Production, our global functions, and customers. The role involves responsibility for ensuring efficient processes, high quality standards, and continuous improvement in accordance with Lean principles.

You will have overall responsibility for the Quality and Environmental Management System (ISO 9001 & 14001) as well as several key processes related to our global customer and supplier quality. As our units are located around the world, frequent travel is required.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with the Quality and Environmental Management System

  • Ensure product quality throughout the value chain, from supplier to customer

  • Manage and coordinate quality deviations in collaboration with our factories, sales companies, customers, and distribution centers

  • Provide technical support to OEM customers

  • Develop and train the organization in root cause analysis (8D methodology)

  • Monitor and analyze KPIs

  • Budget responsibility, personnel management, and work environment responsibility

  • Conduct audits at factories within the Agriculture segment

Your Profile

We are looking for an engaged leader with the ability to guide your team in the right direction. You have a strong interest in quality and continuous improvement, combined with a confident and inspiring leadership style. You are a natural communicator who thrives in a role where collaboration is essential—both cross-functionally and within the global quality organization.

We would like you to have:

  • A relevant academic degree, for example in Engineering, Quality, Production, or equivalent experience

  • Experience leading quality work within a manufacturing industry

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14001

  • A deep understanding of quality assurance throughout the entire value chain, from supplier to customer

  • Knowledge of Lean and experience in root cause analysis (8D) and Six Sigma

  • Experience in data analysis and implementing effective solutions

  • Experience in leadership and project management

  • Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, spoken and written

The position is located in Brännland, and you will report to the Global Quality Manager. The Quality Department currently consists of two employees in Brännland and two in India.
