About the AssignmentWe are looking for an Interior Lighting Designer to create the interior lighting vision for future vehicles. You will work in a creative studio environment where lighting is used to build emotion, character, and storytelling—while meeting real-world performance and regulatory constraints. The role involves close collaboration across Interior Design, CMF, UX, and Engineering to explore, prototype, and mature lighting innovations from concept to production-feasible solutions.
Job Description- Design interior lighting concepts for ambient, functional, and communicative use cases.
- Propose innovative ways to integrate light into surfaces, materials, and interior architecture.
- Translate brand DNA into lighting signatures and dynamic behaviors (for example welcome/farewell sequences, charging animations, thematic moods, and driver-assistance signals).
- Validate concepts through visualization, simulation, and VR-based workflows.
- Create presentations, prototypes, and design material that support decision-making with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Industrial, Product, Transportation, Interaction, or Lighting Design (or a related field).
- Professional experience in automotive, architectural, or consumer lighting, supported by a portfolio demonstrating concept development and execution.
- Ability to work with concepting/visualization tools such as Photoshop, Blender, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven ability to mature lighting concepts into manufacturable solutions aligned with engineering constraints.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Hands-on prototyping ability, including basic electronics knowledge.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Familiarity with automotive lighting regulations and constraints.
- Experience with Grasshopper or similar digital design pipelines.
- Experience with advanced lighting technologies (for example OLED, projection/DLP, AR overlays, or interactive surfaces).
- Knowledge of optics, light guides, human factors, luminance planning, and glare management.
- Experience from automotive design studios or collaboration with Tier-1 suppliers.
- Expertise in material-light interaction in vehicle interiors.
- Valid driver’s license.
Selections are made on an ongoing basis, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.
